The Brother MFC 6490 CW may print smudged due to several reasons. One common reason is that the print head or ink cartridges may be dirty or clogged, leading to uneven ink distribution. Another reason could be that the paper being used is of poor quality or not compatible with the printer, causing the ink to smear. Additionally, if the printer settings are not adjusted correctly, such as using the wrong paper type setting, it can result in smudged prints. Regular maintenance, such as cleaning the print head and using high-quality paper, can help prevent smudging. **
